20 Things I Learned in My Twenties
It’s my birthday! And I can’t believe I’ve hit 30.
On my birthday, I reflected on some of the things I have learned in my twenties. I hope some of these things could be helpful to you! Please send your thoughts in the comments. I would love to hear from you.
1. Popular advice is wrong.
For you.*
Only you know the kind of life you want.
You know it’s real if it sounds crazy to others or differs from the crowd.
Consider what others are saying but then ask if you want the same thing (and life).
2. Slow down.
Fast seasons are ok, but they’re never good for your long-term health (at least for me they weren’t).
When I build slow, I take in every minute of my fleeting time on this earth.
I can create what I really love because I’ve thought about it. And I enjoy my time — our most precious resource.
If I die tomorrow, I’ll know I savored each day.
3. Just because everyone needs it, doesn’t mean you do too.
The nice car; the annual theme park pass; the best restaurants.
