You’re playing the wrong game.
When I was in high school and all the way up to grad school, I thought as most people did.
I wanted to start the next big thing; a startup changing an industry; a corporation giving hundreds of people jobs; all were great dreams and I had healthy intentions but they proved to be ineffective.
Thinking big is a good thing but it can’t happen at the expense of progress.
In my early days of freelancing, I hopped on popular sites to pick up a job or two. I worked for pennies and worked as hard as I could, always seeing a finish line at the distance as motivation for the hours burned.
But growth wasn’t happening as fast as I wanted to.
Each month my revenue was meager. I felt like a failure and quit. I didn’t try freelance work until two years later. I think of all the wasted time I missed on refining my craft and the missed potential for income.
This experience would start me on the journey of having a BIG VISION built with SMALL BRICKS.
