What Does Elon Musk’s Private Twitter Look Like?
He’s creating a platform that doesn’t exist yet.
I understand the sentiment of Elon Musk. He doesn’t like the idea of a committee deciding what is appropriate for a platform, using vague rules to justify decisions. Instead, he wants a platform that protects free speech as much as the law allows it.
But then we face the critical question: a government’s protection of free speech doesn’t mean a company has to adhere to it. It’s a principle of speaking freely in public settings and institutions.
And I think Elon Musk sees a deeper issue than what’s on the surface.
Imagine this. You live in the USA, and you have a problem with a recently passed law. How can you protest it? You pick an area that will have the most impact. Most likely, you would go to D.C. to protest.
Today, digital representations and the Metaverse is changing our idea of reality. For example, you could live in West Palm Beach, spend most of your time in the house and the beaches, but work with a staff providing SaaS services in the UK. While you live in Palm Beach, you communicate, work, and live digitally.
